Hey everyone! I recently got an Acer GX-781 from a family member, but it didn't come with a hard drive. I have no clue about what kind of hard drive I should get. Do I need to find a specific one, or can I choose from any that meet certain specs? I know this PC is a bit older, so I don't expect it to run heavy games like Genshin Impact, which my wife enjoys, but I would love to play something like The Sims on it. I'm really new to this, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! (Please excuse me if I misused any terms, English isn't my first language.)

Thanks for the tips, everyone! What do you think of this option: Kingston NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe 1TB M.2 SSD? It looks similar in shape to what was in there before...
You should be fine with any SATA drive for your Acer GX-781. A 2.5" SATA SSD will work too, although they’re a bit less common. It’s a good option for speed if you want your games to load faster! Just make sure it’s a SATA type.
I recommend getting an SSD over a traditional hard drive. Most PCs from the last couple of decades will be compatible with 2.5" SATA SSDs. Just double check the specs, though, to see if it can handle M.2 NVMe SSDs, which are commonly used today!
No, that one won’t work with your PC. You’ll need a SATA M.2 SSD instead. They look alike, but their interfaces are different. Alternatively, a 2.5" SSD would also fit perfectly!
