I'm looking to upgrade my setup and need some advice. I've got a Lian Li A1 case and my current rig is running a Ryzen 7 4750G paired with an RTX 3070. I initially planned to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, but I'm hitting some roadblocks with space in my case and a lack of available motherboards locally. Now, I'm contemplating going for a Ryzen 7 9700X3D instead. Is this a good move? The AM5 upgrade route is about three times what I budgeted for AM4, but it promises more future upgrade options. What do you think?

If you can snag a Ryzen 7 5700X3D at a reasonable price, I’d say stick with AM4 for now. There are quite a few new tray units available on eBay, so you might find a good deal.
I actually found one at a local store for $286, which is about the same as importing it from the US. The tricky part is finding a compatible motherboard. I was eyeing Newegg, but I’m wary of third-party sellers, and unfortunately, the right board isn’t available anymore.
