Should I Go for the 5070 or 5070 Ti for My Upgrade?

I've been using my ASUS STRIX-GTX1070-O8G since its release back in 2016, and while it still runs fine, it struggles with newer games. I'm looking to upgrade not only my GPU but also my CPU, motherboard, and RAM. Ideally, I'd prefer the 5070 for its price at around 620€ here in Italy. However, I'm considering the 5070 Ti for its 12 GB of VRAM, which seems to offer better future-proofing for my setup. The 5070 Ti is priced around 880€, though I recall seeing it for about 820€ recently. I'm planning to pair my new GPU with a 9600x CPU, with hopes to upgrade to something more powerful in the future. What do you all think would be the best choice for my needs?

If you've got the budget, go for the 5070 Ti. It’s worth it for the longevity, especially with the way games are pushing for more VRAM lately. You're gonna notice a difference at 1440p!

I agree! Plus, I’ve noticed newer games really start to struggle on lower VRAM cards.

Just make sure your PSU can handle the upgrade. If you're set on the 5070 Ti, you'll need a decent power supply. If you can find one close to MSRP, grab it!

I checked, and my PSU (Corsair CX 750M) should be fine with either option.

I’d definitely recommend the 5070 Ti. It's going to be more future-proof with that extra VRAM, which is super helpful for playing at the highest settings.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the 5070 Ti as well for that reason.

Honestly, unless you absolutely need Nvidia's features, you might want to consider other options. There are some good alternatives out there that won't have the driver issues. But if you're set on Nvidia, then the 5070 Ti is the better pick.

Hey, treat yourself! You've held onto that 1070 long enough. Dive into the 5070 Ti; it’s a solid choice for an upgrade!
