Should I Upgrade to a 5070 or 5070 Ti?

I've been using my ASUS STRIX-GTX1070-O8G since it was released in 2016, and while it's still working, it struggles with newer games. I'm considering an upgrade for my GPU along with my CPU, motherboard, and RAM. The main reason I'm torn between the 5070 and the 5070 Ti is the 12 GB of VRAM on the Ti. I'm worried about future-proofing since I want a GPU that lasts as long as my 1070. I game at 1440p, and in Italy, the 5070 is about €620 while the 5070 Ti is around €880 (though I recently saw it for €820). I'm planning to upgrade to a CPU like the 9600x but eventually want something more powerful. What do you all suggest?

Definitely go for the 5070 Ti! It’ll serve you well for a longer time, especially with the extra VRAM. This is important for higher settings in future games, and you’ll definitely appreciate that as titles get more demanding.

I'd suggest you lean towards the 5070 Ti too. The VRAM is going to be crucial for longevity. If you’re gaming at 1440p and want to play on high settings, the Ti will handle that better. Plus, considering you’re planning an eventual CPU upgrade, it'll pair nicely with a more powerful setup down the line.

That's exactly what I'm thinking! Having enough VRAM seems essential.
