Should I replace the battery on my Lenovo Ideapad 110s-11IBR?

I've had my Lenovo Ideapad 110s-11IBR since 2017, and recently it just stopped holding a charge, no matter what I try, including cleaning the charging port. I'm starting to think the battery might be fried. I'm considering buying a replacement battery but I'm unsure if that's the right move. Could there be another issue causing this problem, or is the battery likely the culprit?

You might want to try running "powercfg /batteryreport" in the command prompt if your laptop powers on when plugged in. It gives you a health report of the battery. But if it won't turn on at all, then a new battery seems like the most straightforward solution.

I could try that, but I'm worried since it won't even boot up when plugged in. Financially, getting a new laptop isn't really an option right now.

It sounds like your battery might be on its last legs, especially if the laptop won't power on when plugged in. Typically, laptop batteries start failing after 4-5 years, so given that your Lenovo is from 2017, that's quite possible. If the rest of your laptop works fine, replacing the battery might be your best option since it could save you from having to buy a new device.

Yeah, if it's working fine otherwise, definitely consider getting a new battery. It's usually a way cheaper fix than buying a whole new laptop!

Honestly, if your laptop is still functioning well apart from this issue, replacing the battery usually costs less than getting a new one. But if it’s been a while, and the tech has really advanced, it might be worth considering an upgrade if you’re up for it!

Everything else does seem to work perfectly, so it does sound like the battery's the issue.
