Hey everyone, I just got this 32GB USB drive from the brand 'ezasty' and when I check the properties on my Windows 10 Lenovo Thinkpad, it shows only 29.2GB available. Is this a scam or just some tech quirk I'm not getting? Can I reclaim that missing space?

What you're experiencing is pretty normal! USB manufacturers use the decimal system (1GB = 1000MB), while Windows uses binary (1GB = 1024MB) to report storage. That's why you're seeing less space. You're not missing out on any storage, so no need to worry!
It's just how storage works! Manufacturer calculations are based on base 10, while Windows often reports in base 2. So when you see 32GB, it should technically be around 29.8GB as per GiB. Additionally, some of that space is also used for formatting the drive. Don't sweat it!
Honestly, it's a bummer, but it happens with every storage device you buy. Even a 1TB drive often shows up as around 931GB. It's just the way storage calculations are done. And yeah, sometimes that little bit goes to formatting.
Yep, same thing happens with hard drives. It's frustrating, but you get used to it!
