Is the Brand of RAM Important When Building a PC?

I'm considering a cheaper RAM option, specifically a Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 kit. I've never really heard much about the brand and I'm not sure if that should be a concern when selecting RAM for my build. What do you all think? Does the brand really matter or should I just focus on the specs?

Have you really never heard of Patriot? They're pretty established in the PC building community. Make sure the RAM is on your motherboard's QVL list for compatibility.

Yeah, this is my first time building a PC on my own. I had help before, so I didn't really pay attention to RAM back then!

Patriot is a well-known brand and generally reliable. Just keep an eye on the specs—sometimes lower prices can mean slower speeds or worse timings.
