Is the AMD 9600x3D a Worthwhile Upgrade?

I'm looking to upgrade from my Ryzen 7500F because it's really struggling in some of my favorite 1440p games like Kingdom Come 2, Stalker 2, and Starfield. My GPU, a 5070Ti, often drops below 50% utilization while my CPU is sitting at 80-95%. I initially considered going for a Ryzen 7700, 9700, or even a 9600, as they've gotten cheaper, but I now realize that I probably need an x3D processor to fix my CPU bottlenecks.

Right now, I'm torn between the 7600x3D and the 7800x3D, but the pricing has me worried. The 7600x3D is ideal for my needs but it's priced too close to the 7800x3D to make it worthwhile. With the announcement of the new 9600x3D, I'm curious if it will stack up against the 7800x3D and 7600x3D and what its price point might be. I'm concerned that AMD will set the price too high at $300+, which wouldn't make it appealing at all.

As a fellow Ryzen 5 7500F user, I’m super excited about the 9600x3D! I think it could be a great fit for gaming. But honestly, the price is everything. If it comes out at around $249 or $269, I’d definitely consider grabbing it. Anything above that, though, and I’d rather opt for a secondhand 7800x3D since those extra cores can be worth it. I just hope AMD doesn’t mess up the pricing like they did with the 7600x3D. That CPU is solid, but priced way too high for what it offers.

Exactly! I mean, the 7600x3D is a great mid-range option, but at that price point, it just doesn't get the attention it deserves. For $300, I'd go for the 7700X instead.
