Is the 5060 Ti a Good Upgrade for PC Gaming?

Hey everyone! My friend is building a PC and he's thinking about upgrading to the 5060 Ti. Initially, we were looking at the 4060 Ti, but they didn't have any in stock. I heard there might be an adapter needed for it too. So, I'm curious if the 5060 Ti is worth it or if we should look for something better within that price range?

Honestly, the 5060 Ti doesn’t stand out much. It’s average for the price. If the 4060 Ti needs an adapter, the 5060 Ti probably will too. You might be better off saving money by picking up a 9060 XT; you could use that extra cash for a good PSU, giving nearly the same performance.

Make sure it’s the 16GB variant—that one’s okay. If it’s only 8GB, I’d pass. Also, check your case for size and ensure you slot it into the top of the motherboard for optimal speed. Regarding adapters, not a big deal, just minor tweaks if needed!

It's the 16GB and priced at $470 before tax.

If he’s getting the 16GB version of the 5060 Ti, it might be a reasonable choice. I’d recommend checking out a used 4070 instead if that’s an option. It generally offers better performance for a similar price.

Got it, it is the 16GB version. Just trying to see what the best deal is out there.

What’s a decent price for a 4070?

The 5060 Ti 16GB is decent for budget gaming, but for cheaper, you might want to look at the 9060 XT since they perform similarly but can often be found at lower prices. Performance can also depend on your monitor's resolution and the types of games you play. I use it on a 1440p ultrawide at max settings for lighter games, and it handles things well. But for AAA games at max settings, it’s better suited for 1080p at 120Hz.
