What’s the Best Way to Upgrade My Outdated Motherboard for Gaming?

Hey everyone! I'm diving into modern gaming, but I'm really struggling with an older setup. I built my PC over six years ago when funds were tight, and I've managed to upgrade every part except for the motherboard and case. My current specs include a Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU, 16GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM, a new SSD, an old HDD, and a GIGABYTE GP-P850GM-UK V2 power supply, all sitting on a B450M PRO-M2 MAX motherboard.

The main issue is that I want to upgrade to 32GB of RAM for better gaming performance, but my motherboard is holding me back since it can't support higher frequencies or DDR5. I'm considering upgrading the motherboard to tackle these limitations, but I've heard it can be quite the hassle. What do you all think? I'm not super tech-savvy, so I'd appreciate any straightforward advice.

Also, I'm about to head off to university soon and might not be taking my PC with me, so I'd like to keep any upgrades on the cheaper and easier side. If possible, could anyone also recommend good value 2x16GB RAM that's compatible with my motherboard?

Honestly, jumping to DDR5 might not be worth it just for margin gains in gaming. You could just grab some 32GB DDR4 RAM for your current motherboard; it's a solid last upgrade. It’ll improve your performance for now without the hassle of switching everything out.

That makes sense! Do you have any specific RAM recommendations I should check out that would work with my motherboard?
