Hey everyone! I just got an RTX 5070 at MSRP and I'm thinking about finalizing the rest of my build. I'm aiming to keep everything under $1,000, focusing mainly on solid performance for 1440p gaming at high or ultra settings. I'm primarily going to be playing Civ 7, but I'm hoping the rig can handle other games when I feel like switching it up. I'd love your advice on my CPU and motherboard choices, and if there are any potential bottlenecks or weak links in this setup.

Hey! Great build overall! If you have a Microcenter nearby, check there for deals on CPU, motherboard, and RAM. Otherwise, Newegg often has some good offers too! Good luck!
You might want to consider swapping to the 7500F for the CPU and one of the cheaper coolers like the ID Cooling SE 214XT or Thermalright Assassin Spirit. For storage, if you’re looking to save, you can find the Samsung 990 EVO for less than the WD Black, which is a bit more expensive. Just a suggestion!
The 9600X is cheaper now, but I’ll look into the B650 chipset options. I don’t think I need PCIe 5.0 for now.
Two things to consider: Your motherboard seems a bit pricey; the Gigabyte B850M Gaming X WIFI6E is $50 cheaper and has similar features. Also, do you have a DVD drive for that Windows DVD?
I haven’t checked the B650M options yet. I probably won’t need to upgrade for five years, so I guess that’s not a huge deal. And no, I don’t have a DVD drive!
It looks like your main focus should be the B650 vs B850 debate. Definitely look into that!
No Microcenters around me, but I’ll definitely check Newegg. Thanks for the tip!
