Hey everyone! I've been feeling pretty frustrated with big tech companies like Microsoft and Google lately, and I've finally decided to make the switch to Linux. I have some experience with Ubuntu from using it at college for my computer science studies, but I've never set it up on my personal machine. Some folks, including a Windows-hating professor, suggested I try dual-booting with Ubuntu.
The catch is, I'm not a fan of how Ubuntu looks. I've used Windows for so long, and even with its flaws, I find it pretty decent aesthetically. I know it might sound silly, but if an operating system looks bad to me, it affects my satisfaction with it.
What I'm really after is KDE Plasma. I've seen it, and it's gorgeous! So my question is, do you have any recommendations for beginner-friendly distributions that support KDE Plasma for someone making the transition from Windows?

Have you tried Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop? It's really beginner-friendly! If you're specifically looking for KDE, Fedora and Manjaro are options, but keep in mind, Manjaro might not be the best first distro for newbies. Just something to think about!
You can actually install KDE Plasma on almost any distro, but depending on your experience, it might lead to some hiccups. If you want an easy start, check out Kubuntu; it's just Ubuntu with KDE. Fedora also has a version with KDE, and I found Endeavour OS to be pretty user-friendly—it lets you choose from multiple options and is almost plug-and-play!
