I think my hard drive has failed, and after trying several solutions, I'm considering a clean install of Windows to get my HP Spectre x360 16 working again. I've backed up most of my files, but there's one folder I couldn't save in time, and I really want to recover it if possible. Right now, my laptop isn't recognizing the SSD, and I'm getting a 3f0 error. Any advice would be much appreciated!

I totally get the stress! The Linux option is definitely worth a shot. Make sure to use a separate USB drive for the Linux OS, as you can’t save files onto the same one you're booting from. Keep me posted on how it goes!
You could try booting from a live OS, like Hiren's Boot CD or even a Linux distro such as Ubuntu. These let you run the OS from a USB without installing it, which is perfect for data recovery. Once you're in, see if you can access your files and copy them over to an external drive or another USB stick. If that doesn’t work, it could mean the hard drive is more seriously damaged and may need replacement.
