I've been stress testing my PC and noticed that my Ryzen 7800X3D is hitting 89°C under full load. I'm considering upgrading my cooling solution since I have some thermal paste to replace, but I can't test it until tomorrow evening due to my schedule. I currently have a small CPU air cooler and I'm debating whether to go for a better air cooler or an AIO. My brother uses an Arctic Freezer air cooler, but my older case limits me to a 280mm AIO. Do you think I could fit a decent-sized air cooler without overcrowding the case?

You really just need a solid air cooler for that CPU. What case are you using?
The 7800X3D isn't too demanding in terms of cooling, so going all out for an AIO might not be worth it. Just be aware that if your current air cooler is small and your case is older, it might not be enough anyway.
Check out the Thermalright Phantom Spirit or the Peerless Assassin — they've been popular choices lately, as long as they're available and fit into your case.
It's a generic brand case I bought about 8 years ago when I built my first rig with an i5 9600. I think it was called Zeus or something like that, and it was around 30 euros.
