I'm currently using a 24 inch LG UltraGear Gaming Monitor 24GS60F with a resolution of 1920x1080 and a refresh rate of 180Hz. My graphics card, the 9070 XT, feels a bit overkill for this setup, so I'm considering an upgrade to 1440p. However, I'm worried about whether a new 1440p monitor will display better graphics than my current one. When I tried setting my current monitor to 1440p at 75Hz, the scaling made everything look too small and blurry, and I noticed odd black squares behind my desktop icons. If I switch to a 1440p monitor, will I run into similar scaling issues? And is there a way to fix the scaling so it looks as good as 1080p without any blurriness?

Upgrading to a true 1440p monitor will definitely give you a much better experience than trying to upscale your 1080p monitor. Your 9070 XT is perfect for 1440p gaming, and you'll notice a significant difference. Just be aware that scaling from 1080p to 1440p isn't ideal, so a dedicated monitor is the way to go.
With that graphics card, go for a 27 inch or larger 1440p monitor! Trust me, it's a substantial upgrade from 1080p, and you won't regret it.
I've been eyeing a couple of monitors already!
