Should I Choose an Overclocked RX 9070 XT or Stick to the Standard Model?

Hey folks, I'm putting together a new PC and considering the RX 9070 XT. I'm torn between getting an overclocked (OC) version and a standard one. I've heard that factory overclocks usually provide only a small performance increase, but I'm curious if anyone can share benchmarks or their experiences with the OC versus non-OC 9070 XT cards. Are there notable differences in performance, temperatures, or noise levels? Also, I'm looking at the ASUS Prime OC model for cooling and build quality—does anyone have thoughts on that or other brands with similar pricing? Thanks for your help!

If you live in a hot area, it might be smarter to invest in a better cooler rather than going for an OC model. You can always find good overclocking techniques on YouTube that work well on a standard card, often yielding better results than the factory overclocks.

The difference between OC and non-OC models is generally around 2-5%. You can often achieve similar results on a base model with your own overclocking. The real benefits of the OC models are usually better coolers and quieter operation because the fans can run slower while maintaining good temperatures. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide if those few percent are worth the extra cost.

It's usually not worth the extra cash for the small gains you'll get from a factory overclock. I’d suggest just picking up the cheapest version that has three fans and a metal backplate. As long as the user reviews are decent, you should be fine.

The actual performance gains are usually just 1-3% at most. And personally, I think the ASUS Prime line is pretty low quality for the price—there are better options out there.
