I'm building a new gaming PC and I'm torn between three CPUs: the Ryzen 7 9700X priced at €300, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D at €350, and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D for €400. My main focus is gaming, especially competitive shooters like CS2 at 1440p on low settings for the best FPS. I also enjoy high-settings single-player games for the visuals. Occasionally, I might stream casually just for fun, but I'm not really doing any productivity work. I'm reusing my RTX 4070 for now, but I'm planning to upgrade to something like a 9070 XT later. I want a CPU that can last several years without becoming a bottleneck.

If you're after maximum performance in gaming, the 7800X3D is the best choice out of the three. It really excels in FPS gaming, so if you can swing the extra cash, it's worth it!
I get that, but is the extra €100 really justified compared to the 9700X? I heard 3D chips don’t shine much at higher resolutions.
