I'm putting together a new PC and need help deciding on the best CPU to pair with an RTX 5060 Ti graphics card. I've heard some recommendations for the 7600X, 7700 (non-X), and the 7800X3D, but I want to get the best value for my money since I plan on using this build for several years. My main usage will be gaming with some light editing as well. My budget for the CPU is $400. Also, I've heard that Intel processors, especially the 13th and 14th gen, may not perform well for gaming. Is there any truth to that? If there are better CPU options beyond the ones I've listed, I'd love to hear them!

If you're looking for the best gaming performance, the 7800X3D is a solid choice for your RTX 5060 Ti setup. It's highly regarded for gaming, and it fits well within your budget. It should serve you well for years to come!
The 7600X is also a good fit if you're looking for something slightly more budget-friendly while still offering great performance. Many users find it pairs well with mid-range GPUs like yours.
That one’s on my radar too! I’m glad to hear it has a good reputation.
I’ve heard good things about the 9600X as well, especially if you can snag it for around $270. But since you're willing to spend up to $400, I'd say stick with the 7800X3D for better longevity and performance.
Sounds great! I was worried about the cost, but if it's within budget, then I’ll go for it. Thanks for the heads up!
