Hey everyone! I'm considering dual booting Linux alongside Windows on my Lenovo LOQ laptop, which has an Intel i5 12450HX processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 512GB SSD. I've heard that doing this on the same SSD can lead to some issues. I tried running a couple of Linux distros (Zorin and Ubuntu Budgie) in VirtualBox, but they stuttered a lot and only ran at 60Hz instead of my laptop's 144Hz. Honestly, I don't have a specific need for Linux; I just want to try it out. Any advice? Thanks!

If you're just looking to try Linux without committing, I recommend using a Live USB. You can create one with your USB drive and boot from it without installing anything on your SSD. This way, you can test out various distros any time!
+1 for the Live USB option! It’s a great way to test Linux without making changes to your system. You can read more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_USB.
I say go for dual booting on the SSD. Just keep in mind, Windows might mess with the bootloader. I just started exploring Linux myself too!
How does that actually work? I only have an 8GB USB stick.
