How can I stop PDFs from auto-opening when I download them?

Hey everyone, I need some help! Every time I download a PDF attachment from my work email, it automatically opens in Adobe Reader, which is super frustrating. I often receive multiple emails with PDFs, and having to close Adobe every time really slows me down. I've tried a few solutions but nothing seems to work. Just to give you some context: I'm using Chrome for browsing and Outlook for my work email. I've already disabled the 'preview attachments' setting in Chrome, but this issue only occurs with PDFs—not with Word docs, images, or PowerPoint files. I also looked in Outlook settings but couldn't find anything specific about preventing PDF previews. Any suggestions?

To prevent Outlook from previewing PDFs, you need to adjust a couple of settings in Outlook. First, go to the 'View' tab and find the 'Reading Pane' option. Set it to 'Off' to get rid of that annoying preview under message subjects. Then, head to 'File', select 'Options', and navigate to 'Trust Center' and then 'Trust Center Settings'. Look for 'Attachment Handling' where you can turn off the preview for all attachments or select specific types. This should help with your PDF issue!

Thanks for the tips! But just to clarify, I'm not referring to previews in the inbox. My problem is that the PDFs keep opening in Adobe every time I try to download them.
