Troubleshooting Mouse and Keyboard Issues on New Gaming Build

Hey everyone! I recently built a new PC with a Ryzen 7700X and a Gigabyte Gaming X AX V2 motherboard, paired with 2x16GB of G.Skill DDR5 RAM and an Asus 9060XT GPU. While installing Windows, I experienced some strange behavior where my mouse and keyboard would intermittently freeze and then catch up, causing my games to stutter as well. I noticed high CPU temperatures too, hitting 95°C even under low load which seems odd. I tried switching USB ports for my mouse and using a different wireless mouse, but the issues persist. I've also switched from Windows 10 to Windows 11, but the freezing still occurs when using Chrome and in games. What could be causing these problems? Is it likely a motherboard or CPU issue, or something else?

It sounds like you're dealing with a pretty frustrating issue. Are you using generic drivers only or OEM drivers? Generic drivers sometimes can't utilize all the features of your hardware, which could cause the freezing. Make sure to check Device Manager for any devices that might need specific drivers. Even if your GPU seems to be performing well, double-checking for the latest official drivers might help resolve those stutters and high temp readings you’re experiencing.

Yeah, I've heard that sometimes just the default drivers can cause problems. I'm planning to install the latest drivers from the AMD website and see if that clears things up. It’s just odd that it's acting up during those early boot stages when there shouldn’t be any drivers loaded yet.
