How can I recover my music files after being kicked off my school laptop’s domain?

I recently lost access to my Lenovo ThinkPad, which I had from my school, after being kicked off the domain. I paid a fee to keep the laptop, knowing I would eventually lose access since I'm no longer a student. Now, I can't log in to the computer, and I have over 175 music tracks saved directly to the downloads folder. I've tried to transfer them to my phone via USB, but since I'm logged out, that isn't working. Is there a way for me to recover those files without having to re-download them all after a factory reset? They're not backed up anywhere, like the cloud or OneDrive.
