Help! My ROG Strix G16 is Stuck in a Boot Loop After Replacing Thermal Paste

I recently repasted my ROG Strix G16 (2024) using PTM7950 for the CPU and GPU, and applied Upsiren U6 Pro thermal putty to the other components. Now, when I turn on the laptop, it displays the ROG logo and the keyboard lights up, but after about 20 seconds, it powers off and starts the same cycle again. I can't access the BIOS with any of the usual function keys like F2 or Delete. I've tried various troubleshooting steps including swapping RAM sticks, removing the SSDs, doing a CMOS reset by holding the power button, and checking for visible damage inside but found nothing. I'm really frustrated and could use any suggestions to resolve this issue!

Sorry to hear that! It sounds like your CPU might need to be reballed. If that's the case, it could be time to look for a new laptop altogether.

If you can manage to get into BIOS without the hard drive connected, it might indicate that the hard drive needs replacing. If that's the case, I hope it's still under warranty! If not, you may need to consider getting a new one.

I tried entering BIOS without any hard drives attached and it still won't let me in, no USBs plugged in either.

Just a tip: ensure you're pressing the correct BIOS key. Sometimes you might need to hold down the FN key while pressing F2 or Delete.
