Hey everyone! I put together my first PC about a month ago, and while it handles most games decently, I've been struggling with performance on Ark Survival Ascended. I can barely hit 5 FPS, even though my GPU was at 100% utilization and my CPU only hit 20%. I've already installed the chipset and GPU drivers through Adrenalin, and my RAM is set to XMP. Here's a rundown of my setup:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9900x
- GPU: AMD Radeon Steel Series 9070xt
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 (16GB x2)
- Storage: 2TB SSD in PCIe slots x2
- Power Supply: 850 Watt Super Flower
- Cooler: Montech Hyperflow
- OS: Windows 11
Any guidance would be super helpful!

Since you've got a solid build, it might just be game settings that are too high. Try lowering some graphics settings in Ark and see if that helps. Sometimes that can make a big difference, even adjusting things like shadows and textures!
Sometimes, even if a PC runs, there might be hidden issues. Have you checked your settings in the game or the Adrenalin software? There might be some optimizations or tweaks you can do to boost your performance. Don't hesitate to look around for those tweaks!
Quick question: Are you connecting your monitor to the GPU instead of the motherboard? That could definitely impact your FPS. Just making sure that's all sorted out!
I'd suggest checking your Task Manager while you're playing. It might give you insights on what's bottlenecking your performance. If you're having trouble posting screenshots, you could just describe what you see!
I can't post pics on here, but I'll definitely check Task Manager next time I play.
I tried connecting both monitors to the GPU, but I couldn't get them to work together. Does that affect anything?
