Trouble Getting My RAM to Run at Full Speed

Hi everyone! I just built a new PC and I'm having some issues with my RAM not running at its advertised speed. Here are my specs: I'm using a Ryzen 7 7700 CPU, an ASRock B850 Riptide WiFi motherboard, and Orico Raceline DDR5 RAM rated at 6400 MHz (2x16GB), with the EXPO profile enabled in the BIOS. Despite saving the changes, my RAM speed is still showing as 4800 MHz both in Windows and BIOS. It seems like the EXPO profile isn't being applied correctly or gets reset. I've also noticed that sometimes after enabling EXPO, the system won't boot for a while before it turns on again, but it still defaults back to 4800 MHz. Does anyone have experience with this issue? Thanks a lot!

Can you see if you have more than one EXPO profile available? Sometimes there are options that can work better depending on the motherboard and DIMM configuration.

Have you tried setting the RAM speed manually to 6000 MHz instead? Sometimes that helps stabilize the settings. Also, make sure that all your BIOS settings are saved correctly after changes.

But why set it to 6000? I thought it should work at 6400 since that's what it’s rated for!

Have you tried using XMP instead? Even though it's more for Intel chips, sometimes it can provide a better experience overall, depending on your setup.

Actually, XMP is for Intel CPUs, while EXPO is the AMD equivalent. So you’ve got to stick with EXPO here!
