Hey everyone! I'm fairly new to the world of PC gaming and recently got myself a gaming rig. However, I've quickly filled up my 1TB storage, so I'm looking into adding a second M.2 SSD. My current SSD has a motherboard heatsink, but there isn't one for the additional M.2 slot. I'm wondering if I need to buy a separate heatsink for the new drive, or if it's okay to skip that. Any advice would be super helpful! Thanks!

Honestly, I’ve never felt the need to put heatsinks on my SSDs and they've worked just fine. As long as you’re not pushing them to the max all the time, you should be okay without one.
You can find SSD heatsinks on Amazon for around $7, so it’s definitely worth getting one. Better safe than sorry!
You technically don’t need a heatsink, but having one can help with temps. Just know they can sometimes get in the way of the SSD's locking mechanism. So it's good to keep that in mind!
Just to clarify, your motherboard has another M.2 slot but it doesn’t include a heatsink? In that case, just look for an SSD that already comes with a heatsink. It saves you the trouble of buying one separately.
