Looking for Alternatives to Nextiva: Recommendations Needed

I'm a small business owner considering a switch from Nextiva due to ongoing frustrations with their desktop app - it's only working about 50% of the time when I check my voicemail and other features. I need a reliable virtual phone system that works well on both Mac and mobile devices. My requirements are straightforward: I need phone service, voicemail, fax capabilities, and unlimited calling within the US. I also want the option to add international calling if necessary, and I need to port over 5 existing numbers. I'm open to various solutions and would appreciate any recommendations you have!

You might want to check out Zoom Phone along with an Obi adapter for physical fax machines. I've been using it and it's awesome—great pricing and it just works better than other options I've tried.

I've been satisfied with 3CX and a low-cost SIP provider; it ticks all the boxes for what you need. 3CX is a strong player in this space with solid features.

I agree! 3CX really stands out; nothing else comes close in terms of features and reliability.

I've been using Yeastar with Voxtelesys for a few months now. It's been great—much less hassle compared to 3CX, from what I've gathered in various discussions. Totally worth considering!

I've managed several VoIP systems, and while Nextiva is affordable and easy to manage, I hear a lot of complaints about its softphone. If you're okay with handling a system by yourself, consider using something like voip.ms with a softphone app like GroundWire. I use it for my own side business and it works well. Alternatively, local VoIP providers can fully manage your system, but expect to pay around $30-$35 per user and the quality can be hit or miss until you've signed a contract.
