Why Does My New EVGA 3080 Feel So Slow Compared to Others?

I've recently upgraded to an EVGA 3080 and I can't shake the feeling that my gameplay isn't as smooth as what I've seen from others with the same GPU. Before this upgrade, I was running a 6600 and experienced some performance issues then too, so I'm starting to think there might be something else going on with my setup. Here's my UserBenchmark - [UserBenchmark Link](https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/70600973) and my Timespy Score - [Timespy Score Link](https://imgur.com/a/evga-3080-time-spy-score-UH0F3mj). Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

UserBenchmark isn't the best tool to rely on; it's pretty biased. Instead, check out your Timespy score. A typical RTX 3080 should score around 17000-17300 points if your case has good airflow. The real problem seems to be with your CPU — the 5700G should ideally score over 9000 points and hit around 4.5GHz. Yours is only getting about 6400 points because it’s stuck at 2400MHz. This could be due to thermal throttling or incorrect BIOS settings. Here's a reliable review for reference: [TechPowerUp](https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-5700g/24.html).

I appreciate the guidance! I’ll dive into my BIOS and see what I can fix, thanks!

Thanks for the insight! I’ll check my settings and see if I can get those numbers up. Here’s my new Timespy result: [New Timespy Link](https://imgur.com/a/3080-616POcz).

What CPU are you using? I have an EVGA 3080 myself, and I initially had it paired with an i7 8700k, which turned out to be a bottleneck. Upgrading to a 9800X3D really helped with performance. Just curious if your CPU might be the issue too!

I'm using the Ryzen 7 5700G.

The 5700G is not the strongest CPU for gaming, but it’s not complete garbage either. It’s better than a Ryzen 3600, which, while not ideal for a 3080, can still handle most games fine. But depending on what you’re playing, it might fall a bit short.

True, it's definitely better than my old one, but yeah, I can see why you’d consider it weak for high-end gaming.
