What’s the Best Linux Distro for Gaming and Everyday Use?

I'm considering switching to a Linux distro since Windows 10 support is ending soon. Although I'm not very familiar with Linux, I'd rather set everything up that way than move to Windows 11. I'm primarily a gamer, but I also need my computer for schoolwork and other tasks. Is there a Linux distro that's great for gaming but also suitable for general use? Will Ubuntu handle everything I need just fine?

I’ve been using Bazzite lately and I think it's awesome! Just make sure to check if it suits your general needs too.

Definitely try using Proton for gaming! It can really enhance your experience on Linux!

Gaming performance is pretty consistent across most Linux distros, so if you want to go with Ubuntu, it should work just fine for you!

Oh, cool! Good to know, thanks!

Most popular distros will handle gaming well, but if you're also looking for general usability, I'd recommend staying away from Steam OS and Bazzite. Otherwise, go with what suits you best!

CachyOS is another option you might want to consider if you’re looking for something different.
