I just graduated with a computer science degree and I'm about to start my first developer job focusing on Perl and Mojolicious. Lately, I've noticed that with AI handling a lot of programming tasks, I've lost my motivation to work on personal projects. How do you all stay inspired to create when it seems like AI can do it faster and easier?

I get what you're saying! AI is a great tool, but it still needs experienced developers to guide it. Good code requires understanding and finesse that AI just doesn't have. Think of AI as a helper rather than a replacement. It might boost your productivity, but it’s your skills and ideas that will truly shine in any project.

Let's face it, AI can aid with some parts, but when it comes to real-world applications, you still need solid programming skills. The more you work on your own projects, the better you’ll get at working with AI tools too. So don’t let it deter you; use it as a resource!

Honestly, even though AI can do a lot, it can't replace the joy of building something from scratch. Programming is about problem-solving and creativity, not just typing code. So, if you love coding, focus on that aspect! It's not just about getting the job done; it's about the experience and the satisfaction of creating something unique.

Remember, AI isn’t really capable of understanding context or coming up with truly innovative ideas like humans can. It may be able to generate code quickly, but that doesn’t mean your projects are any less valuable. Your personal projects reflect your insights and growth as a programmer. Keep pursuing them!
