Hey everyone! I've received some components to put together a nice gaming PC, but I'm really unsure about which GPU to choose that would be compatible with my setup. I'm still a newbie when it comes to building PCs, so I'm open to any and all advice! I'm hoping to keep my budget under $2,000, but with the current market, it's hard to say. Here's what I've gathered so far:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-13600KF 3.5 GHz
- CPU Cooler: Montech METAL DT24 PREMIUM
- Motherboard: ASRock Z690 Taichi ATX LGA1700
- Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32 GB DDR5
- Storage: Western Digital WD_Black SN850X 2 TB NVMe SSD
- Case: Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
- Power Supply: Fractal Design Ion+ 2 Platinum 860 W
- Fans: Lian Li Uni Fan SL-Infinity 3-Pack
I just want to make sure I get a GPU that will run modern games smoothly at 60fps and be somewhat future-proof. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

It looks like you have a solid build so far! If you're looking for a great GPU and want to stay within your budget, you could consider the NVIDIA RTX 4080. It should pair nicely with your Intel i5 and handle modern AAA games easily. Just make sure your PSU is up to the task, I'd recommend at least 1000W for stability.
Depending on current prices, the RTX 3090 is also a solid choice if you can find it at a reasonable price point. It's still a powerhouse and should keep you gaming comfortably for a few years. Just be cautious with the fan choice; the ones you have might add unnecessary noise or costs.
Good point! I wasn't sure about the fans, so any feedback on that is welcome. Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely look into the RTX 4080. Aiming for a 1000W PSU sounds smart too!
