Is a $480 RTX 4090 Too Good to Be True?

I'm in the process of building my second PC after several years on a laptop. While searching for used GPUs, I stumbled upon a listing for an RTX 4090 on Facebook Marketplace for just $480. The seller claims it's only been used for four months and has several other tech listings, including parts and complete PCs. I had a good experience buying a used 1080 for my first build, but I'm skeptical. Is this a common scam or a legitimate deal?

Honestly, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Be careful with such low-priced new tech, especially something like an RTX 4090.

If you can do a local pickup, there's a slim chance it could be real. Just don't send any deposits. I once fell for a scam like this where they sent me a box of rocks instead. Always better to be safe!

Exactly! Always pick up in person if you can. It's a dangerous world out there for bargain hunters.

I didn't even have to read your post fully to know it's likely a scam. No one is selling a real 4090 for that price in this market.

No way someone is letting go of a genuine RTX 4090 for $480. I've seen 3090s priced between $600 and $800, and the 40 series GPUs are even pricier. Just doesn’t add up!
