I'm looking to build a new PC and I'm considering the i3 12100F to pair with my 6600 XT because it's much cheaper than the R5 5600. However, I checked a bottleneck calculator and it indicated a 12% bottleneck. How much do you think this will impact my FPS while gaming?

I wouldn't stress too much about that 12% bottleneck claim. For AAA games on high settings, it probably won't affect your FPS drastically. That said, if you can swing it, go for a 6-core CPU to help future-proof your setup and enjoy smoother gameplay.
It really depends on your gaming goals. If you're set on 1080p gaming, the 6600 XT and i3 combo should handle things decently, especially for less demanding games. However, games like DOOM do have higher requirements, and while it may run on the i3, I wouldn't expect the best performance. What specifically are you planning to play?
Honestly, those bottleneck calculators can be pretty misleading. I wouldn't rely too much on them. A 4-core CPU like the i3 12100F is definitely going to be limiting in the long run, especially for more demanding games. You're likely to feel some performance issues with newer titles as they usually recommend higher core counts. If you can, consider getting a 6-core CPU for a smoother experience overall. It will save you from potential headaches down the line.
