Looking for Motherboard Recommendations for AMD 9800X3D

I'm diving into building my first PC and I've decided on the AMD 9800X3D CPU because I'm not a fan of Intel's recent offerings. I also plan to pair it with a 5070 Ti graphics card. However, I'm feeling a bit lost when it comes to choosing a motherboard. I found the ASUS TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI suggested for my CPU, but I'm not sure if it's the best option. Can anyone share their thoughts on whether this motherboard is a good choice or recommend something newer? I definitely need a reliable wired internet connection for gaming, not just WiFi.

It's a pretty balanced motherboard overall. It covers the essentials you need for gaming and other tasks pretty well.

It really depends on your budget. The MSI B850 Tomahawk and the GIGABYTE B850 AORUS Elite are both solid picks. Just make sure to check the reviews to see if they meet your needs.

Not necessarily bad! It just depends on your specific requirements. Check compatibility with your OS.

So, does that mean the ASUS one isn't great since you’re recommending others? I saw the Tomahawk available, but I read somewhere that the AORUS Elite might not support Windows 11.

The ASUS TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI is decent, but keep in mind that some users have had issues with ASUS support and warranty policies. If it were me, I’d consider the GIGABYTE B850 AORUS Elite WIFI7 instead—better customer service and a longer 5-year warranty compared to ASUS’s 3 years. It’s similarly priced too!

If you're in Europe, I wouldn't worry too much about that; just order from a reliable store and let them handle returns.

Yeah, I’m in Europe too, and that just hasn't been a problem for me.
