I'm on the hunt for a virtualization solution that works on different operating systems, similar to VirtualBox, but I need it to be accessible for users to create their own virtual machines without requiring admin privileges. Hyper-V won't work for me since it doesn't allow for user-level creation. If VirtualBox is truly the only viable option, does anyone have suggestions on how to manage the risks associated with using Oracle software?

Honestly, letting users create VMs without admin access is asking for trouble. You're basically giving them the power to run whatever they want on their machines without oversight. It’s a big security risk, and you might want to reconsider the setup. Trackability is key here!

While I see your point, having admin access poses its own set of issues. Users with admin rights can really cause havoc, changing core system settings or getting access to sensitive info. It’s all about finding that balance in risk management!
