Why Is My New PC Screen Going Black Randomly?

I recently built a brand new PC with all the latest parts, and I've been facing an annoying issue where my screen goes black for a few seconds before coming back on. This happens randomly, and even though the audio keeps playing during the blackout, it can be really frustrating. I've already installed the latest drivers for my GPU, but the problem still persists. Sometimes it occurs frequently, while other times, it seems okay. Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it? My monitor is also brand new, so I don't think that's the issue.

Have you tried sharing your PC specs and the model number of your monitor? That info could help in troubleshooting your issue better. Another thing to check is if you're overclocking any components; sometimes that can cause instability.

If you're using a 50 series GPU, it could indeed be a driver from Nvidia that's causing the issue. There's an optional Windows 11 update that some users have found useful, but rolling back to version 572.24 has worked for others, even though it might come with its own set of problems. Just keep that in mind!

It sounds like it could be a driver issue, especially if you're using an Nvidia GPU. There are some known problems with certain driver versions. You might want to check the Nvidia forums for any updates or fixes. Also, consider changing how you connect your monitor—switching from DisplayPort to HDMI (if that's an option) might help too. And just to be safe, you could run the Windows Memory Diagnostic test to check for any memory issues. Just curious, does it go black while you're gaming or only when you're just browsing?

Actually, it goes black even when I'm just using apps like Spotify or watching YouTube. It mainly occurs when I click on something, but I noticed it rarely happens while gaming. Strange, right?

Yes, that's definitely odd! I hope the connection change works for you.
