I'm diving into PC building instead of sticking with consoles, and I've put together a $600 build using an iGPU due to the current GPU shortage. I'm looking for opinions on whether this build is worth it for getting started with AM5. Here's my part list: [link to the parts](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7ZPWTM)

I love the idea of building your own PC! But with your budget, you might want to explore platforms like Facebook Marketplace for some used parts. You could get a better foundation for a system you can upgrade in the future. Balancing budget with performance is key!
I don’t quite see it as a GPU shortage. You can find GPUs available, but the prices are just outrageous. For about $650, you could build a setup with a Ryzen 5 5600 and an RX 7600, which would be a much better option for gaming.
It really depends on what you're planning to do. This build could serve as a solid HTPC. But if gaming is your goal, you might want to invest in faster RAM—6000 isn’t really enough for iGPU gaming. If you can, aim for 16GB or even 32GB to share with the iGPU. It's a step up from Intel's iGPUs for sure!
If I were you, I’d opt for a Ryzen 5 9600X paired with a used GPU, say a GTX 1060 6GB. That combo would offer significantly better performance right now. Plus, the 9600X could support a stronger GPU down the line!
Honestly, I'd recommend going with an AM4 setup and snagging a cheap discrete GPU instead. iGPUs have improved, but they still can't match the performance of dedicated GPUs.
Totally agree! I actually have a different $600 build with a used GPU that might be worth checking out. Here’s the list: [link to the parts](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Yt3GzP)
