Hey everyone, I'm building my first PC and I could use some advice! Here are my specs: Intel i5 12th gen, MSI H610M-E Pro DDR5 Motherboard, PNY or Lexar 512 GB NVMe, PNY XLR8 DDR5 16 GB RAM, and an MSI GeForce RTX 3050 VENTUS 2X 6GB OC Graphics Card. I'm wondering if a 550W power supply is enough for this setup, or should I consider upgrading to a 650W PSU instead? Thanks for your help!

According to TechPowerUp, a 300W PSU is suggested for the 3050, which means you're more than covered with 550W. But you should know that the 3050 6GB is often criticized for being overpriced compared to the 8GB model, which is already lagging behind the RX 6600.
Even a 300W PSU would power that build just fine! But honestly, the 3050 6GB is kind of pricey and doesn't give you as much performance as you'd hope. Maybe consider a used RTX 2070 Super or even just go for the RX 6600 if you want better performance.
Thanks brother, I'll consider that option!
The TDP for the RTX 3050 is around 75W, so you'd technically be fine with a 550W PSU. However, I gotta say, if you're considering buying new, I'd recommend looking at the RX 6600 instead. It's a much better option for about the same price. Just a thought!
Thanks brother, I'll definitely check that out.
I'd steer clear of the 3050 6GB—it runs about the same as an RX 580 but at a higher price. The perks are only slight, like DLSS and some light hardware ray tracing. If you do end up needing to save some cash, consider going for the RX 6600 or a used 3060 instead! Just a heads-up!
Honestly, you might not want to get the 3050 6GB if gaming is your main goal. In some places, the RX 6600 is just slightly more expensive, and it performs way better. It's worth it if you can swing it!
Thanks brother, I'll look into that!
Thanks brother, I'll make sure to check it out.
