Hey everyone! I'm thinking about getting a used RX 6700XT for around $249, which is pretty much my max budget. There are new options like the RX 7600 for $292 and the RTX 4060 for $360 that I could consider as well. My main worry is whether the used GPU might fail soon after I buy it. I've already checked it out—looks good, but it doesn't have a warranty seal due to a previous issue that was fixed. When I tested it, the temperatures were decent at around 78-79°C after about 20 minutes of FurMark, and I played Cyberpunk 2077 for 15 minutes with no visual issues. The seller only offers a 3-month warranty, so I'm a bit concerned about getting stuck with a faulty card. Do you think this GPU is likely to last, or should I save up for a new one? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I wouldn't worry too much about it dying within a year. In my experience, GPUs don’t usually fail from age. You might need to repaste it in a couple of years, but that's pretty standard. The real risk is overheating from dust buildup or poor thermal paste rather than the card itself breaking down.
Yeah, I think people get paranoid about GPU failures because they see too many horror stories online. It sounds like you've given it a good check, and the 3-month warranty is a solid window to ensure it works fine.
