I recently encountered a strange situation on my Windows 11 laptop where a text file with nonsensical characters opened itself on my screen, displaying the message: "You can't hide from us." This file was located in the Temp folder and vanished shortly after I noticed it. The issue arose after I downloaded Jdownloader2 and unintentionally installed the AVG suite alongside it. After attempting to uninstall them, this anomaly occurred. I ran a scan with Windows antivirus, but it flagged nothing. Should I be worried, and what steps should I take next?

This might not be related to JDownloader2 or AVG at all. It sounds more like a prank than an actual malware threat. I suggest checking your scheduled tasks in Windows to see if anything suspicious is set there. Real viruses aren't typically this playful; it could just be a harmless joke or even a sign of a remote access tool (RAT) that someone has on your system. If you're worried, make sure to change your important account passwords on a different device to be safe and log out from your other devices.
Thanks for the advice! I’ll check the scheduled tasks and run a scan with Malwarebytes. Better to be safe than sorry!
