I recently purchased a used Samsung S7, but the previous owner didn't reset it before selling. I've contacted them, and they are willing to help unlock the phone, but they're not comfortable giving me the password directly. The phone is now factory reset—what can I do to make it usable?

The best option is to meet up with the previous owner and have them enter the password for you. Since you’re already in touch, try to arrange a convenient time for both of you. Once they enter it, there should be an option to set up a new account, allowing you to bypass the FRP lock.
That sounds like a solid plan. Just make sure you’ve got everything ready for when you meet.
