Why Do Star Wars Games Keep Crashing My PC?

I've been having a frustrating issue with my computer where I can't seem to play any Star Wars games without it crashing. Specifically, when I try to load Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Squadrons, my screen goes black and the whole system becomes unresponsive. It starts loading, then suddenly goes to a black screen, and I can't even get past that. The only thing I can do is boot into BIOS, but it still ends with a black screen afterwards. I'm able to play other games without any problems, regardless of the settings. I did manage to get Squadrons to launch after some effort, but when I tried to improve the graphics settings, it started flickering and eventually led to the black screen again. I've reached out to Microsoft support, EA support, Xbox support, and basically anyone else you can think of, but no one has been able to help me figure this out. Any suggestions on how I can stop these black screen issues when playing these games?

It sounds like a frustrating issue! Since it's only happening with Star Wars games, it could be something specific to how those games handle graphics on your system. Have you checked your graphics drivers to ensure they are up to date? Sometimes, game compatibility issues can arise from outdated drivers. Also, try lowering the graphics settings before launching the game to see if that helps with stability. If everything else works, it might just be those games misbehaving on your setup.

Yeah, I've heard that driver updates can make a huge difference. Sometimes rolling back to an older version of the driver can also help if the newest one is causing problems. Worth giving that a shot!

You might want to also check for overheating. If your GPU is getting too hot, it can cause issues like black screens. Try monitoring your temps while gaming, and make sure your PC isn’t dust-covered or restricted in airflow. Sometimes even just cleaning out the fans can help.

I had a similar problem with a different game. It turned out to be related to my power settings. If your power settings are optimized for battery instead of performance, it can cause these kinds of issues with gaming. Check your power options and make sure they're set for high performance. That might do the trick!
