I'm new to building PCs and want to be careful before making a purchase. I'm eyeing a motherboard with 3 M.2 slots, and I have the option to either go for a dual drive setup with two 2TB drives or just a single 4TB drive. Would getting two drives mean I'd have a combined storage of 4TB, or is it more like having two separate drives of 2TB each, similar to C and D drives? If I want more space in the future, would it be wiser to get a 4TB dual setup or just stick with a single drive?

Honestly, it doesn't really matter. Back in the day, people usually used dual drives because SSDs were super costly, so one would be for the OS and the other for storage. Nowadays, many people go with one SSD and back up to the cloud or a home server. If you're leaning towards a single drive, that could be more straightforward for you!
If you're already thinking about getting two 2TB drives, I'd recommend just going with a single 4TB drive. You might end up with a spare 2TB drive later that you won't need!

Thanks for clarifying that! I heard about having the OS on one drive but it looks like opting for a big single is the common advice.
