I recently built my first PC back in January but didn't have a GPU at the time. After saving for about six months, I finally got a Radeon 9070 for around $630. Before I dive into installing it, I'd love to hear any tips or common mistakes I should avoid. I've watched a video by LTT on PC building, checked that my PSU can handle the load through PCPartPicker, ensured the GPU will fit physically, and connected the necessary cables. I even spun the GPU fans to check them out! I've got a Lego piece lined up as a budget sag bracket instead of buying a new one. Would you say I've covered everything, or is there more I should look into? Here are my current specs:
- Ryzen 5 7600
- 32 GB RAM
- Ant Esport Air 211 case
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 Spectrum v3 cooler
- Cooler Master Gold v2 750W PSU
- MSI B650M Gaming WiFi motherboard

Don’t stress about it too much! You’ve already built the PC, so adding the GPU should be a breeze. Just make sure to use at least two separate PCIe cables to power it up. Also, definitely download the latest drivers from AMD once you’ve got it installed. Keep an eye on your CPU temps when gaming, as the 9070 can really push the Ryzen 5 7600, especially with a cooler like your Hyper 212, which might struggle under heavy loads.
Got it, thanks! Quick question—what cooler would you recommend for the 7600 that’s budget-friendly? Also, will gaming at 1440p help ease the load on the CPU?
