What’s the Best Budget Build for a First Gaming PC?

I'm gearing up to build my first gaming PC and I'm aiming for a budget-friendly setup. Currently, I'm considering a B550 motherboard, Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, a 1070 Ti GPU, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. My focus isn't on powerhouse graphics since I mainly play indie games. I just want to hit at least 60 FPS at 720p to keep me satisfied. While I don't have a strict budget, I hope to keep costs low; I might stretch up to a B650 motherboard and DDR5 RAM for future upgrades. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You might benefit from setting a rough budget first; it really helps narrow down your options. For a decent budget build today, I'd suggest looking at a Ryzen 5 5600 and an RX 6600 instead. If you're open to AM5, going for a 9600X and an RX 9060 XT 16 GB would be solid too!

Totally agree! Setting a budget is key. If you're aiming around $500 right now, that's a good starting point.

Your current build is okay, but just remember that a 3600 and 1070 Ti combination would have been great a while back, but now you might want to update to something newer for better performance with modern games.

Yeah, I've seen the 3600 mentioned a lot. But, if you're mostly playing indie games, it might still do the job just fine if you tweak the settings.
