I'm trying to upgrade my OptiPlex 3060 SFF and I'm currently running an Intel i5 with 32 GB of RAM. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 that I'd like to use instead, but I keep seeing that it's often considered too expensive for setups like this. My question is, can I swap my i5 for the Ryzen 7? Will I need to replace any other components, like the motherboard? I'm not very knowledgeable about these things, so any guidance would be super helpful!

Unfortunately, you can't just swap out the i5 for the Ryzen 7 because they use different socket types. So yeah, you'll need a new motherboard that supports the Ryzen CPU. Just make sure to get one that's compatible with your other components too!
So I'm definitely looking at a new motherboard then, huh? I guess I should do some research on compatible options.
