Is This a Solid Upgrade Path for My Gaming PC?

I'm planning to upgrade my current system from a Ryzen 7 2700, RTX 2060, 16GB of DDR4-3200 memory, and a 500W EVGA 80 Plus power supply to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, RX 9060 XT 16GB, 32GB of DDR4-3200, and a 650W or higher PSU. I'd keep my ASUS Prime B450M-A II motherboard, existing 1TB M.2 and 500GB SSD, and Wraith Prism cooler. The full upgrade would cost roughly $775–$850. Does this look like a worthwhile and well-balanced upgrade path?

I’d go with a larger power supply instead of 650W, especially if you want room for a future graphics card upgrade. A quality 750W or 850W unit would give you more headroom and avoid needing to replace it again later.

I was deciding between 650W and 850W, but I’ll probably choose the 850W option for the extra headroom.

That’s a solid upgrade overall, but the value depends heavily on the total price. For around $775–$850, it makes sense if you’re getting good deals on the parts. The CPU and GPU upgrades should provide a substantial improvement over the Ryzen 7 2700 and RTX 2060.

The RX 9060 XT 16GB should pair well with the 5700X3D, and it’s capable of handling demanding games at ultrawide 1440p settings. Keeping the B450 board and DDR4 memory also helps keep the upgrade cost under control. Just make sure the motherboard BIOS supports the 5700X3D before installing it.
