Need Help Optimizing My $400 Gaming PC Build

I'm trying to put together a gaming PC on a budget of around £400, preferably under that amount, and I'm pretty new to building PCs. Here are the specs I've got so far: an Intel i5 12400F with 6 cores, 16GB of RAM (2x8GB), a 1TB M.2 2280 SSD, an RX 6500 XT graphics card, a Thermaltake Smart 500W 80+ ATX power supply, an ASRock B760M-HDV/M.2 Micro ATX LGA1700 motherboard, and a MARS Gaming MC-S2 ATX mid-tower case. I plan to buy most parts second-hand, likely from places like CEX or eBay since I'm on a tight budget. I mainly play CPU-intensive games like CS2 and TF2, which is why I opted for a cheaper GPU. I'm unsure if my build is good or bad and where to go from here, considering all the components will be used since I'm financially stretched.

By the way, where in the UK are you located? That might help others suggest local options or resources.

The RX 6500 XT isn't really worth it even at that price. I recommend you spend a bit more on a used GTX 1070, since it would give you much better performance. Also, consider getting a DDR4 motherboard and RAM kit to save some cash; the performance drop with the i5-12400F is quite minimal. It could help you stay under budget while improving your overall build.

Have you thought about just getting a complete used PC instead? It could be a better solution for your budget and you might find something that fits your needs more easily.
