I'm about to move into a new apartment for the year, but it's unfurnished, and I really want a TV for watching games and movies, and maybe hooking up my console. The catch is that I'll only be in this place for around 9 months, and it's likely that the next move will be too far to bring a TV along. I'm trying to find the best way to get a quality TV without spending a ton of money. I'm considering a few options: buying a second-hand TV, which I'm finding it hard to locate a trustworthy source for, getting a cheap TV and pairing it with an Apple TV to make it smart (but those are pricey too), or just spending a little more up front and trying to resell it later. Any thoughts on what would be the best route to take?

Honestly, a lot of people move their TVs all the time, even over long distances. It might not be as crazy as it sounds to take it with you! But I totally get why you'd want something lightweight for just 9 months.
Walmart has some pretty good deals on TVs; I found a 50-inch model for about $100. Considering you want something inexpensive, this could be a solid option. If you’re open to getting something for free, check out ‘Free Stuff Alert’ in your area—you might score a TV that way!
That definitely sounds legit! Any specific TV brands you'd recommend for that price?
Haha fair point! But I know shipping a TV over a thousand miles can be pricey. Thanks for the perspective!
