I'm running into a lot of issues when rendering hardware-intensive scenes in Blender on Windows. I'm considering setting up a dual-boot system with a lightweight Linux distro that would help me utilize more of my PC's resources for Blender instead of the OS. Can anyone suggest a stable and lightweight Linux distribution that supports Blender rendering well?

Bodhi Linux 7.0 HWE is another very lightweight option. It’s worth a shot!
Check out the distro selection page; it’s a great resource! Also, Smokey says to back up often and test things in a VM to avoid any mishaps.
I’ve had a good experience with Peppermint OS; it’s really lightweight and works great even on older laptops.
Honestly, if your computer can handle rendering in Blender, any Linux distro should work just fine. If it's struggling, switching distros won't magically solve hardware limitations. Just make sure your system is powerful enough for the render jobs you're trying to run.
You could try a distro without X or Wayland. Once you're comfortable with rendering through the command line, you'll maximize your machine's resources. You can also SSH into the machine for easier file transfers.
Agreed, but I think X and Wayland won't significantly impact render times compared to using a standard Ubuntu setup.
